Reviews Explained & Rating System

Just an FYI

My reviews are just my thoughts, opinions, praise and complaints about books I’ve read. I try not to be harsh but I don’t sugar coat anything either. That being said, my reviews are not meant to offend or hurt anyone and should not be taken out of context. I understand we all love books, but please remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

BOOKS FOR REVIEW

At the moment, I’m not accepting any books for review.

Incentives/Promos/Book Tours

I don’t receive money for positive reviews.
I definitely don’t receive money for negative reviews.
I don’t do book promos or book blog tours.

RATING SYSTEM

I rate books on a scale of 1 – 5:

5 – loved, loved, loved it!
4 – a truly great read!
3 – middle ground. not great but not bad either. a solid “good” read.
2 – meh. could’ve been worse right?
1 – what the f&%k is this crap?

BADGES

And sometimes I give books little badges:

• debut – an author’s first book.
• dnf – a book so bad I couldn’t bring myself to finish it.
• dead series – a book series I won’t be continuing.
• favorite – my favorite books, worthy of re-reading.
• perfect – a perfect match! books that go beyond 5 stars.
• be different – books that are weird, unique and stand out like wednesday addams.
• once in a blue moon – books that i feel deeply affected by after reading (which doesn’t happen very often).
• creative – books that have creative flare (pictures, drawings, handmade journals, documents, etc).
• lgbtq – books that are centered on lesbian, gay, bi and trans characters/themes
• super sweet – romances so sweet you’ll get a cavity.

Archived Reviews

Years ago I had a young adult book blog but I haven’t been there in a longgggggg time.
I decided to update and archive those old reviews on this new blog and you can read them here.
